Thank you for your reply (in June…!); I have been considerably slower still in replying…….

But thank you immensely! Your information has been incredibly helpful and I now understand better. I have a 1-1/4C 8 NY2 which I bought second hand / used. I haven’t tried any of your other modifications; if I am ever in Munich I will do so certainly (it is maybe, for me, a better reason to come to Munich than Beer!) 

I also own many other Bach 1-1/4Cs ftom different eras of production with different backbores and throat sizes and also copies (by Breslmair / Frost etc). It is genuinely true if I say that yours is the best I have ever played. It gives a great sound which I can really control and most importantly is incredibly EFFICIENT for me! I have used it on a Larson modified Bach 37 from the late 1970s on many professional engagements in the UK over the last 6 months. 

You are clearly doing something right do thank you!
